Most of us are having to adapt to a new reality and develop new processes due to the COVID-19 virus. Government mandates, as well as common sense safety protocols are limiting the way some of us do business.

We will try to keep you updated with information pertinent to our industry and different ways your auction business can stay relevant and competitive.

Chris Rasmus with JLR Auctions held a YouTube discussion regarding safety practices for auctioneers and the impact of Coronavirus on the industry. It’s very informative and we encourage you to watch.

Mike Brandley published a great article about conducting live auctions during the pandemic. It covers "mass gatherings" and complying with executive orders. It is a must read for the auctioneer who intends to host live auctions.

Mike also wrote this article titled Auctions and a Pandemic. It was published on March 16th but still contains relevant information about the COVID-19 virus and the impact it is having on our industry.

FAA Past President Craig Fleming hosted a Zoom call and discussion for FAA members. If you missed it, Here is a video of the call:

The National Auctioneers Association published a resource page for auctioneers. It is available to both members and nonmembers of the NAA.

We have a tradition in our business. Most of you have heard of “AHA!” (auctioneers helping auctioneers). It is in the spirit of the Florida Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association to lend a hand and help each other, especially in critical times like these.

As a member of the FAA, we encourage you to join our private Facebook group. It is a forum that is not open to the public. It’s just for FAA members to ask questions, express concerns and to connect with fellow members. It is also used to offer help and assistance to members who need it. If you are a FAA member and do not have access to the private Facebook group click the “+Join” button and you will be added to the group.

Thank you for being a member of the association for professional auctioneers in Florida. We have always held ourselves and our businesses to the highest standards. It is our hope that these standards will carry through in your compassion and willingness to help each other in the days and weeks to come.

Let's work together and stay safe!
